The short version: Guri Wise is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Your seven-day free trial turns into a paid plan unless you cancel before it ends. You can cancel at any time in your account, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. If you change your mind, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or of a yearly renewal.
1. About These Terms
1.1 These Terms and Conditions are an agreement between you and Guri Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., company registration number 0105564046756, 92/5, 2nd Floor, Sathorn Thani 2 Building, North Sathorn Road, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand (“we”, “us”), which runs Guri Wise. They apply to our website, our apps and everything we offer through them (the “Service”).
1.2 You accept these terms when you start a free trial, buy a subscription or gift card, or create an account. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.
1.3 Team plans for businesses are covered by a separate agreement; where it differs from these terms, that agreement applies.
2. The Service
2.1 Guri Wise offers short audio and text summaries of nonfiction books, which you can listen to or read on our website and apps.
2.2 Our summaries are created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and checked by our team. They present the authors’ key ideas as we understand them, for information and learning. They are not the books themselves, they are not endorsed by the authors or publishers, they may contain errors or leave out nuance, and they are not professional, medical, legal or financial advice. To get the full picture, read the book.
2.3 Our catalog changes over time. We add titles regularly, and we may change or remove a title, for example when a rights holder asks us to. We do not promise that any particular title will stay available.
3. Your Account
3.1 We create your account when you start a trial or buy a plan. You must give accurate details, confirm your email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
3.2 You must be 20 or older to subscribe, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. The Service is not meant for children under 13.
3.3 Each account is for one person. A membership includes two accounts: you can invite one person to use the second account. Do not share your sign-in details with anyone else.
4. Subscriptions, Trials and Payment
4.1 Plans. We offer monthly and yearly plans. The price, the currency and what is included are shown before you pay. Prices include any taxes that apply. Payments are processed by Stripe.
4.2 Free trial. New members get a 7-day free trial. A payment card is needed to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your first payment is taken when the trial ends, and your plan then renews automatically. Each person can have one free trial.
4.3 Automatic renewal. Your plan renews at the end of each month or year, and we charge the price of your plan to your card, until you cancel. If a payment fails, we email you, and your access may stop until the payment goes through.
4.4 Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we email you at least 30 days before your next payment at the new price. If you do not want to continue, you can cancel before then.
4.5 Canceling. You can cancel at any time on your Account page or by writing to us. Canceling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of your current trial or paid period. Closing your account also cancels your subscription.
4.6 Refunds. If you change your mind, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of the first payment of a new subscription, and within 14 days of each yearly renewal payment. Write to us from the email address on your account. We refund the payment to your card within 15 days, and your access ends when the refund is made. Monthly renewal payments and partly used periods are not refunded. This does not limit any refund rights you have under the law.
4.7 Student plan. The student plan is for students at a school, college or university. We confirm your status with your school email address or a student ID when you join and once a year, for up to four years. When you are no longer eligible, your plan continues at the normal yearly price from your next renewal.
4.8 Gift cards. A gift card is one payment for 3 or 12 months of Guri Wise and never renews. It can be redeemed within one year of purchase. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash and are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. When the gift period ends, access stops unless the person who redeemed it chooses a plan.
5. Using Guri Wise
5.1 While your plan or trial is active, we give you a personal, non-transferable license to listen to and read the summaries for your own, non-commercial use.
5.2 You may not:
- copy, download, record, sell, publish or share our content outside the Service;
- use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access or collect content or data from the Service;
- use our content to train, test or improve any artificial intelligence or machine-learning model;
- reverse-engineer the Service or get around any of its technical protections;
- share your account beyond what your membership includes, or resell access to it;
- use the Service in a way that breaks the law or harms us, other members or rights holders.
6. Content and Intellectual Property
6.1 Our summaries, audio, design, software and trademarks belong to us or to our licensors. These terms do not give you any right to them beyond the license in section 5.
6.2 Book titles, covers and author names belong to their respective rights holders and appear only to identify the books we summarize. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the authors or publishers.
7. Rights Holders
7.1 Our summaries are original works written to inform, discuss and review the ideas of the books they cover. If you hold rights in a book and believe a summary goes beyond what the law allows, write to [email protected] with:
- the book concerned (title, author and edition);
- the address of the summary page;
- your name, postal address, phone number and email, and your authority to act for the rights holder;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and that the information in your notice is accurate.
7.2 We confirm receipt within one business day. Where a notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the summary within five business days, and we are always open to discussing a license instead. If you believe a summary was removed by mistake, you can write to the same address. We close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
8. Changes to the Service and These Terms
8.1 We improve the Service over time and may change its features. We will not reduce the core of what you pay for during a paid period without offering you a refund for the rest of that period.
8.2 If we make a material change to these terms, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then. Changes required by law, or that do not affect you negatively, may take effect sooner. The date at the top shows the latest version.
9. Suspension and Termination
9.1 You can stop using the Service, cancel your plan or close your account at any time.
9.2 We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by sharing your account, scraping content, or committing fraud or payment abuse. Where we reasonably can, we warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your account without a reason of this kind, we refund the unused part of your paid period.
10. Liability
10.1 We work to keep the Service available and accurate, but we provide it as it is and as available, to the extent the law allows. We are not responsible for losses that we could not reasonably foresee, or for indirect losses such as lost profits.
10.2 To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
10.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury, for intentional acts or gross negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing in them affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.
11. Complaints, Governing Law and Disputes
11.1 If something goes wrong, please write to us first at [email protected]. We reply to complaints within seven business days and try to resolve them fairly.
11.2 These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, and the courts of Thailand decide any dispute. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country and may bring a claim in its courts.
12. General
12.1 These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and anything shown to you at checkout, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of them is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
12.2 We may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over the Service, for example if Guri Wise changes its name or owner; your rights under these terms stay the same. You may not transfer your account or this agreement.
12.3 These terms are available in English and Thai. If the two versions differ, the Thai version applies to consumers in Thailand and the English version applies everywhere else.
12.4 Contact: [email protected] for these terms, [email protected] for privacy, or Guri Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., 92/5, 2nd Floor, Sathorn Thani 2 Building, North Sathorn Road, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand.
